The Role:
We’re seeking a Project Estimator - Virtual Assistant. This role is designed for detail-oriented professionals with experience in construction or plumbing estimating who can accurately analyze project plans, perform takeoffs, and prepare competitive bids.
You’ll play a key role in supporting construction estimating and bid preparation by reviewing blueprints and specifications, calculating project costs, sourcing materials, and collaborating with internal and external stakeholders to ensure accurate and timely bid submissions.
Location: Must be in Philippines – Remote.
Environment: Philippines and International Teams.
Language: Advanced English (B2+ - C1).
Timezone: Monday to Friday – 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM Pacific Daylight Time (PDT).
Contract: Non-fixed Term Colombian Contract.
Requirements:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in a related field preferred.
- Experience: 2–3 years of prior experience in plumbing or construction estimating preferred. Experience working with general contractors, public works projects, and private sector bids preferred.
- Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and/or Google Workspace, with the ability to read and interpret construction blueprints, drawings, and specifications. Strong analytical capabilities, attention to detail, and the ability to identify discrepancies, missing information, and potential scope gaps in project plans. Ability to manage multiple bids simultaneously while working under tight deadlines, along with excellent communication, coordination, and negotiation skills. Knowledge of UPC code is a plus but not required.
- Characteristics: Highly organized, proactive, detail-oriented, and capable of working independently in a remote environment while maintaining accuracy and accountability.
Responsibilities:
Construction Estimating & Takeoffs
- Review and analyze construction blueprints, drawings, and specifications to perform accurate takeoffs.
- Identify discrepancies or missing information in project plans and coordinate with clients or project managers to clarify scope.
- Utilize estimating software and spreadsheets to calculate project costs.
- Prepare accurate material, labor, and cost estimates based on project requirements.
- Source materials and obtain pricing from vendors and suppliers.
Bid Preparation & Submission
- Prepare and submit bids in accordance with project requirements and deadlines.
- Ensure bid documents are complete, accurate, and aligned with client specifications.
- Manage multiple bids simultaneously while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail.
- Track bid deadlines, requirements, and supporting documentation.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Collaborate with the sales and project management teams to ensure bid accuracy and alignment with company capabilities.
- Communicate with clients, vendors, and internal stakeholders to confirm pricing, scope, and project details.
- Support project teams by providing accurate estimating information for planning and execution.
- Maintain organized records of estimates, vendor pricing, bid submissions, and project documentation.
