About Our Client
Our client is a not-for-profit organisation dedicated to enriching the lives of young people in under-resourced communities through creative writing programs. They help students improve writing skills, build confidence, and expand future opportunities. Since 2012, they have supported tens of thousands of student enrolments and are recognised nationally for their impact and innovation.

About the Role
The Indigenous Storyteller will lead creative writing workshops for primary and high school students, with a strong focus on Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander young people. You’ll deliver established programs, collaborate on culturally inclusive content, and help nurture creativity and confidence in diverse communities.

This is a full-time role based across Redfern and Parramatta, with travel across Greater Sydney and flexibility to occasionally work from home (with future expansion to my Druitt).

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver creative writing programs to students aged 7–17 in schools, centres, and online.
• Collaborate with program leads to ensure cultural safety and inclusivity.
• Supervise volunteers during workshops and maintain accurate records.
• Curate student work for publication and contribute to new program development.

What We’re Looking For

• A passion for nurturing creativity in young people.
• Experience delivering inclusive, culturally sensitive programs to diverse student groups.
• Strong communication and organisational skills, and a love of writing.
• Teaching qualification desirable but not essential; significant facilitation experience highly regarded.
• Driver’s licence and ability to travel across Sydney.
