Our client is a national not-for-profit organisation committed to advancing reconciliation across Australia by strengthening relationships, respect and trust between Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and the broader community.

They lead impactful national programs, including the Indigenous Governance Awards, which recognise and elevate excellence in First Nations governance and leadership.

About the Role

This is a pivotal project leadership opportunity driving the delivery of a nationally recognised program celebrating First Nations governance excellence.

You will oversee the end-to-end delivery of the Indigenous Governance Awards, including national site visits, stakeholder engagement, and event coordination leading up to a major awards gala.

This role is ideal for someone who thrives in complex project environments, enjoys working closely with community organisations, and is passionate about showcasing First Nations leadership and innovation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage the Indigenous Governance Awards project from planning through to delivery
  • Coordinate national site visits, travel logistics, and stakeholder engagement activities.
  • Work across teams and partner organisations to ensure seamless program delivery.
  • Support delivery of awards event within the broader national conference program.
  • Engage respectfully with First Nations communities and key stakeholders
  • Manage timelines, risks, budgets, and reporting

What We’re Looking For

  • Significant experience in project management or complex program delivery (5–8+ years).
  • Experience working with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities.
  • Strong stakeholder engagement and relationship management skills.
  • Ability to manage logistics, competing priorities and deadlines.
  • Excellent communication skills and attention to detail.
  • Passion for reconciliation and culturally respectful practice.
