About Our Client

Our client is a well-established Drug and Alcohol Rehabilitation Service supporting individuals through residential treatment and recovery programs. With a strong focus on holistic care, they are committed to delivering culturally safe, responsive services that support positive outcomes for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.

They are deeply invested in strengthening community relationships and advancing their Reconciliation Action Plan (RAP), ensuring their services are inclusive, respectful and community-led.

About the Role

This is a First Nations Identified role focused on providing culturally appropriate support to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander clients accessing rehabilitation services.

Working across both the corporate office and residential treatment facility, you will support clients throughout their healing journey while also contributing to broader organisational initiatives, including driving RAP outcomes and building meaningful relationships with community.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide culturally safe, person-centred support to First Nations clients
  • Visit the residential facility and advocate for client needs
  • Liaise with clinical teams to support holistic care
  • Connect clients with external services (courts, family services, community organisations)
  • Support clients throughout their rehabilitation journey
  • Contribute to and help drive the organisation’s RAP initiatives
  • Coordinate NAIDOC Week and other significant cultural events
  • Build and maintain relationships with local Aboriginal organisations
  • Represent the organisation at networking events, forums and conferences

What We’re Looking For

  • Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander identified
  • Minimum Certificate IV in Mental Health, Community Services, Community Work or related field
  • Experience in mental health and/or AOD services (highly regarded)
  • Strong cultural knowledge and ability to deliver culturally safe support
  • Ability to build relationships with clients, community and stakeholders
  • Strong communication and advocacy skills
  • Current driver’s licence and ability to work on-site
