Job Overview:
We seek a passionate and experienced Wellness Health Coach / Registered Dietitian (RD) to join our team. This role is responsible for planning, developing, and evaluating health education programs that support the wellness goals of Miami-Dade County employees. The ideal candidate will have substantial experience in motivational interviewing, public speaking, and delivering one-on-one coaching focused on nutrition and behavior change. This is an on-site position in Downtown Miami, three times a week, with extensive local travel (75–80%) required throughout Miami-Dade County. Mileage reimbursement is provided.
Schedule and Shift:
- Type: Full-Time, Temporary (40 hours/week)
- Flexibility: Occasional evenings or weekends for events
- Location: On-site (Downtown Miami + local travel across Miami-Dade)
Primary Job Responsibilities:
- Plan, develop, implement, and evaluate health education programs based on measurable behavioral objectives.
- Provide personalized wellness coaching focused on nutrition and healthy lifestyle habits.
- Conducted one-on-one and group coaching sessions with county employees.
- Deliver engaging educational presentations and workshops on various health and wellness topics.
- Serve as a health promotion resource by maintaining up-to-date knowledge of preventive health strategies.
- Attend biometric screenings and wellness events to promote programs and increase engagement.
- Adjust educational strategies to meet the needs of individuals with different learning abilities.
- Collaborate with internal departments to support overall wellness program goals.
Qualifications:
- Master’s Degree in Health Education, Nursing, Nutrition, or a related field (Required)
- Registered Dietitian (RD) (Required)
- CHES or other health education-based certification (Preferred). If not currently certified, candidate must obtain certification within one year of hire.
- At least 5 years of experience in health education program development and delivery (Required)
- Previous management and business acumen experience (Required)
- Proven experience in public speaking and educational facilitation
- Experience in motivational interviewing and coaching for behavior change
- Bilingual in English/Spanish or English/Creole preferred
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Knowledge of medical terminology and wellness industry best practices
- Ability to create measurable goals and evaluate outcomes
- Must have reliable transportation for local travel (mileage reimbursed)
