CAD Administrator
Location: Multiple facilities within 20-mile radius (6–7 locations)
Work Arrangement: Onsite – Must be prompt and reliable/Sterling Heights
The CAD Administrator is responsible for the implementation, maintenance, and support of all CAD/CAE systems and software—including Siemens Teamcenter, NX, CATIA, Spinfire, and SolidWorks. This individual will support engineering users across multiple facilities, manage licensing, installation, and user administration, and help maintain a highly documented process environment.
The ideal candidate has hands-on experience with Teamcenter administration, understands CAD licensing systems, and can step in quickly to support day-to-day needs. While deep expertise in all areas isn’t required, the ability to be reliable, hit deadlines, and support systems across sites is essential.
Key Responsibilities:
- Administer and support Siemens Teamcenter and major CAD tools (NX, CATIA, AutoCAD, Spinfire, SolidWorks)
- Manage Teamcenter environments, including server setup, user configuration, workflows, and scripting (load/install)
- Install and maintain CAD applications across locations, ensuring licenses are properly managed and up-to-date
- Provide first-level CAD/CAE support to engineering teams
- Document all processes and workflows in alignment with internal standards
- Assist with data transmission and communication with OEMs (GM, Ford, Stellantis, etc.)
- Train new users and provide ongoing support
- Maintain and update CAD license servers and associated hardware
- Coordinate with software vendors (e.g., Siemens) on system updates and enhancements
- Support security protocols and ensure compliance with internal network and data policies
- Provide input on hardware/software purchases related to CAD and engineering tools
- Travel between nearby facilities (within 20-mile radius) as needed
Required Qualifications:
- 3+ years of experience in a CAD Administrator or similar technical support role
- Strong experience with Siemens Teamcenter (installation, administration, troubleshooting)
- Proficiency in NX and CATIA licensing and support
- Experience with documentation and structured process environments
- Working knowledge of Windows OS and major CAD platforms (NX, CATIA, AutoCAD, Spinfire, SolidWorks)
- Ability to manage time effectively and work across multiple facilities
