Know our team

The Integrated Nutrition and Gender Project in Senegal (PINGS), which focuses on five regions: Kolda, Sedhiou, Tambacounda, Kaffrine, and Kédougou is funded by the Government of Canada (GAC) and implemented by Nutrition International (NI) in collaboration with the Government of Senegal (GoS), specifically the National Council for the Development of Nutrition (CNDN) and World Vision Canada/Senegal. Over a span of seven years, PINGS aims to enhance the capacity of twelve ministries responsible for improving the nutritional well-being of the population. By offering technical assistance, the project will integrate nutrition into action plans and coordinate interventions. Additionally, PINGS promotes a multisectoral approach that emphasizes gender equality in the design, implementation, and monitoring and evaluation of nutrition and health policies, programs, and services. Working in partnership with the GoS, our project seeks to empower key stakeholders within communities, ensuring better gender equality and equitable access to nutritional and sexual and reproductive health and rights (SRHR) services for women and girls.

About the role

The Finance and Administration Assistant will contribute to the effectiveness of PINGS by providing efficient financial and administrative support services to the Zonal Coordination team in line with NI’s policies and procedures.

Responsibilities:

  • Assisting in budget preparation and ensuring spending remains within approved limits.
  • Managing procurement processes for office equipment and supplies.
  • Making accurate and timely payments for approved operations.
  • Maintaining and reconciling petty cash records.
  • Preparing cash flow projections and requesting cash advances.
  • Generating monthly financial reports with proper coding and allocations.
  • Supporting the management of service providers and drafting administrative agreements.
  • Maintaining inventories of office assets and reporting damages or losses.
  • Assisting with travel arrangements and expense reports.
  • Organizing meetings and workshops.
  • Collecting and submitting activity sheets.
  • Providing general office administrative services.
  • Performing any other related duties as assigned.
  • Any other related duties as requested.

 

About You

You have:
  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration or a related field from a recognized university, or have an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • At least 3 years of experience in accounting and/or finance At least 5 years of experience in supervising Child Health, Nutrition programs.
  • At least as 3 years of experience in project office administration.
  • Proficiency in the Microsoft suite, particularly Excel, is essential.
  • Experience working with databases would be considered a valuable asset.
  • Fluent written and spoken English and French is essential.
