About you
You will have a degree in medicine, nutrition, public health, health management, international development, social work and/or other related field with a strong technical knowledge of human nutrition and the role of micronutrients. You will have at least 7 years of work experience with government agencies, NGOs, community groups, and/or UN agencies with atleast 5 years project management experience, with experience in managing or working on nutrition and health programs.
Good knowledge of government policies and programs to address nutrition at state and national level in India as well as of the role of industry and academia in health and nutrition programs in the country. Fluency in Hindi and English is essential.
About the role
The State Program Representative (SPR) will be responsible for partnership with government, overseeing program implementation and operations within MP state, including program management, strategic planning, team leadership, and stakeholder engagement. The position involves ensuring the timely and effective delivery of Nutrition International’s programs, focusing on adolescent, maternal and child health and nutrition and Large Scale Food Fortification (LSSF). In this role you will be responsible to:
- Lead and successfully organize state operations including identifying new program opportunities based on program and policy priorities of the state and NI.
- Establish and nurture partnerships with government, other development partners in health and nutrition including academia, research community and local organisations, building strategic alliances towards child survival, adolescent, maternal and child nutrition and food fortification.
- Identify suitable implementing partners and guide and orient them on relevant program and technical aspects including NI policies and procedures, introducing effective modalities and practices of implementation.
- Ensure high quality project implementation including robust monitoring and ensure that they are being implemented well and expected outcomes are achieved.
- Provide strategic inputs towards advocacy efforts of the Country Office by preparing or reviewing relevant documentation, i.e. white papers, donor and other high-levels visitor briefs, conference papers, speeches, fund-raising concept notes and proposals.
- Manage state office; establish systems of accountability for effective compliance with corporate policies and procedures in stewardship of resources entrusted to you, and effective and efficient management of programmes.
