About you

You should have a master’s degree in public health, international development, public policy or a similar field with an added value of having degree in Food Technology, Food Engineering from a recognized university along-with minimum 8-10 years working experience in public health in an international development organization or government institution and/or are funded by international donors.

Fluency in English and Bangla (reading, writing & oratory skills) is a prerequisite for this position.

 

About the role

Primarily responsibility of this position is to develop and ensure successful implementation of the overall Large Scale Food Fortification (LSFF) program in Bangladesh including context-specific technical and management support, strategic and operational plan, documenting and disseminating NI’s work related to food fortification program and beyond. In this role youwill be responsible to:

  • Develop LSFF programs strategy in line with government programs. Responsible for overall understanding on Bangladesh work environment and policies related to nutrition and LSFF that may affect current or future programs
  • Develop idea/ concept note etc. and support in proposal development for LSFF program in Bangladesh.
  • Identify the need and work closely with country team, NI’s Ops team and External Relations team in developing advocacy strategies for LSFF program.
  • Maintain good working relationships with and knowledge of the work of other in-country partners engaged in LSFF program
  • Coordinate with key stakeholders at national and subnational level, including but not limited to the Ministry of Food, Ministry of Women and Children Affairs, Ministry of Industries, Directorate General of Food, Department of Women Affairs, Bangladesh Small and Cottage Industries Corporation (BSCIC), Institute of Public Health Nutrition (IPHN), World Food Programme (WFP), Bangladesh Fortified Rice Mills Association, Bangladesh Salt Mill Owners Association and other INGOs and NGOs
  • Supervise the work of the Program Officer(s), Program Assistant(s) and partner agencies, including overseeing the development of work plans, assessment of training needs, reviewing monthly financial settlements and other human resource requirements such as hiring of extenders, field consultants from time to time.
