Your Contributions


As a Software and Hardware Senior Engineering Specialist, you will play a critical role in reviewing and assessing airborne software and electronic hardware designs from suppliers, ensuring compliance with technical and regulatory requirements. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Participating in preliminary and critical system design reviews.
  • Reviewing and assessing suppliers’ certification plans for airborne software and electronic hardware.
  • Evaluating software and electronic component designs (FPGA, ASIC, PLD).
  • Conducting technical and process audits at supplier facilities.
  • Performing safety-of-flight reviews.
  • Assessing test results and analyses to determine compliance status.
  • Leading resolution efforts for safety, compliance, or technical issues with suppliers and internal stakeholders.
  • Preparing and reviewing design compliance reports.
  • Contributing to the evolution of the Software and Electronics (SWEL) domain roadmap.
  • Mentoring and supporting less experienced professionals.


What You Bring


  • University degree in Electronics, Software, Aerospace Engineering, or a related field.
  • Canadian citizenship or permanent residency (mandatory).
  • At least 15 years of experience in a technical engineering role, including 10+ years in aeronautics.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in FPGA/ASIC development and/or embedded software development for aerospace applications.
  • Deep knowledge of airborne software and electronic hardware guidance and compliance standards, including:
  • RTCA DO-178B/C, DO-248B/C, DO-254, DO-330
  • EASA CM-SWCEH-002 and CM-SWCEH-001
  • FAA AC 20-115D, AC 20-152A
  • FAA Orders 8110.49A and 8110.105A
  • Familiarity with requirements capture tools (e.g., DOORS, JAMA).
  • Proficiency in multiple programming languages: C, C++, Ada95, Assembly, Python, and hardware description languages.
  • Strong understanding of embedded computer architectures, operating systems, and real-time executives.
  • General knowledge of electronics and software programming.
  • Experience working with civil aircraft and airworthiness authorities.
  • Membership in the Ordre des ingénieurs du Québec (OIQ) required.
  • Results-driven mindset with strong initiative and accountability.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Strong organizational skills, team orientation, customer focus, and resilience under pressure.
  • Demonstrated adaptability, innovation, integrity, and strong influencing skills.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills in English (functional French is an asset)
