Job Summary
The Senior Supply Chain Quality Engineer will play a key role in leading quality planning, executing quality assurance activities, and ensuring compliance with aerospace industry standards and customer requirements. This position requires a strong background in supply chain management, quality, and process improvement.
This role includes on-site liaison responsibilities at supplier facilities to identify and resolve root causes of quality and delivery issues related to supplier products and processes. The engineer will collaborate cross‑functionally with engineering, manufacturing, supply chain, and customer teams to maintain product quality and support business objectives.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform on-site liaison and supervision at supplier locations to identify root causes and resolve quality issues related to supplier products and processes.
- Ensure compliance with AS9100, ISO9001, and customer-specific quality requirements.
- Manage supplier quality performance, audits, and process qualifications.
- Establish performance indicators with the client and suppliers to ensure quality standards are met and continuous improvement plans are executed.
- Coordinate with teams to analyze, understand, and resolve supplier-related issues to ensure timely delivery.
- Provide regular written reports as required by each work order.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Materials Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
- 10+ years of relevant quality experience in aerospace or other highly regulated manufacturing environments.
- Hands-on experience with AS9100/AS9145, PPAP, FAI (AS9102), APQP, PFMEA, and Control Plans.
- Experience with aerospace components such as machining, composites, assembly, or avionics (preferred).
- Demonstrated success in supplier quality development.
- Strong knowledge of Lean, Six Sigma, or other process improvement methodologies.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Working Hours
- Four (4) days per week
- Up to 32 hours weekly, with potential for increased hours as needed
