Job Title: Structural Assembler

Position Overview: As a Structural Assembler, you will play a crucial role in the fabrication and assembly of aerospace components. Working closely with our team of engineers and technicians, you will ensure the highest standards of quality and safety are upheld throughout the assembly process. This position requires meticulous attention to detail, a strong understanding of structural assembly techniques, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and technical specifications to assemble structural components in accordance with design requirements.
  • Perform precision drilling, riveting, fastening, and bonding operations using hand and power tools.
  • Conduct quality inspections to verify dimensional accuracy, alignment, and adherence to specifications.
  • Identify and resolve assembly issues, ensuring compliance with safety protocols and industry regulations.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to optimize assembly processes and enhance overall efficiency.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area, adhering to strict cleanliness and safety standards.
  • Document assembly procedures, including any deviations or modifications, to support continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Participate in training sessions and workshops to stay updated on industry best practices and emerging technologies.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience as a Structural Assembler in the aerospace or related industry.
  • Proficiency in interpreting engineering drawings, blueprints, and technical specifications.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude with expertise in precision assembly techniques.
  • Familiarity with a variety of hand and power tools commonly used in structural assembly.
  • Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to producing high-quality work.
  • Effective communication skills and the ability to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Prior experience working in accordance with aerospace quality standards (e.g., AS9100) is preferred.
  • Valid certification or training in structural assembly techniques is an asset.

Additional Information:

  • This position is based in Saint Laurent, Quebec.
  • The duration of this contract is one year, with the possibility of extension based on project requirements and performance.
  • As an independent contractor, you will be responsible for managing your own taxes and benefits.
