Engagement: Independent Contractor (1099), 3+ months (with potential extension)

Position Overview

Our aerospace client is experiencing supply chain challenges with a key supplier in Elma, NY, who has been unable to deliver parts in a timely manner. We are seeking an experienced Supplier Recovery Consultant to be onsite, identify root causes, implement recovery actions, and communicate progress to leadership. The ideal candidate will bring a strong background in aerospace manufacturing, including experience with Electro Valves, problem-solving, and supplier management, with the ability to provide clear reporting and engage directly with client leadership through Microsoft Teams.

Key Responsibilities

· Conduct onsite supplier assessments to identify bottlenecks and delivery risks.

· Perform root cause analysis and develop actionable recovery plans to ensure on-time part delivery.

· Drive immediate corrective actions on part-critical, date-specific, and short-term delivery issues to prevent line-down situations.

· Collaborate with supplier production, quality, logistics, and shipping teams to improve performance.

· Act as the liaison between client leadership and suppliers, attending daily/weekly video calls via Teams.

· Track, validate, and expedite real-time delivery status updates.

· Prepare and deliver clear, detailed reports for executive-level stakeholders.

· Apply Lean, Six Sigma, and continuous improvement methodologies (Kaizen, 5S, etc.) to drive sustainable supplier recovery.

 

Qualifications & Requirements

· Minimum 5 years of experience in manufacturing, with at least 3–5 years in aerospace.

· Hands-on experience with Electro Valves manufacturing is required.

· Strong knowledge of supply chain, manufacturing operations, and quality systems.

· Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office tools.

· Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to influence suppliers and stakeholders.

· Effective time management and organizational skills.

· Available for onsite supplier visits in Elma, NY and daytime interactions Monday–Friday.

· Must provide own laptop/PC and be able to meet reporting requirements.

· Must hold a valid driver’s license and have access to reliable transportation.

· Must pass a background check.

 

Preferred:

· Six Sigma Green or Black Belt certification.

· Experience with Lean Manufacturing, 5S, Kaizen, and Project Management.
