Position Title: Supplier Navigator (Independent Contractor)

Compensation: $45+/hour
We are seeking an experienced Supplier Navigator to support our client in the transportation industry. This is a 4-week onsite contract role in Bellwood, IL, with the potential for extension. The Navigator will be responsible for securing delivery commitments, providing visibility on material and production requirements, and ensuring supplier performance aligns with project needs.
The role requires strong communication, problem-solving, and supplier management skills, acting as the “boots on the ground” liaison between the supplier facility and the client’s supply chain team.
Communicate daily with the material planner on delivery status and requirements.
Provide immediate feedback to supplier supervisors and client supply chain team regarding any roadblocks or delays.
Monitor and report delivery performance, escalating issues as needed.
Ensure parts flow is aligned with the client’s recovery and supply plans.
Track and anticipate manufacturing lead times to prevent delays.
Identify process gaps and collaborate with the supplier to develop corrective action plans.
Work with supplier to improve OTIF (On Time in Full) performance through planning and recovery measures.
Provide daily updates on raw material status, steps, and potential disruptions.
Act as the onsite client representative at the supplier facility and provide weekly status reports to the internal team.
Support additional scope of work as defined during the contract.
Proven experience in supplier management, production planning, or supply chain operations (transportation, rail, aerospace, or related industries preferred).
Strong problem-solving and communication skills to work effectively with both supplier and client teams.
Ability to anticipate issues, develop corrective actions, and ensure timely delivery.
Hands-on, detail-oriented, and proactive in monitoring supplier operations.
