The CMM Inspector is responsible for performing dimensional inspections of aerospace components using Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMMs) and traditional measurement tools to ensure full compliance with engineering drawings, specifications, and quality standards.
- Operate CMM equipment to perform dimensional inspections on machined and sheet‑metal aerospace components.
- Read and interpret aerospace engineering drawings, GD&T, specifications, and customer requirements.
- Use manual inspection tools to verify part conformance.
- Document inspection results and maintain traceability through quality systems.
- Support first article inspections (FAI) in accordance with AS9102 requirements.
- Assist in resolving tolerance issues and support corrective action processes.
- Ensure CMM equipment is calibrated and maintained.
- Follow all safety rules and internal quality procedures.
- 2–3 years of CMM inspection or operations experience.
- Strong GD&T knowledge.
- Experience with PC‑DMIS or other CMM software preferred.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
- Experience with AS9100 or ISO 9001 systems.
- High attention to detail and strong communication skills.
- Experience completing AS9102 FAIRs.
- Familiarity with NDT methods.
- Ability to support production with quality problem‑solving.
