The Technical Recruiter, Defence, reporting to the Vice President of Sales & Operations – Defense, is responsible for identifying, attracting, evaluating, and hiring highly qualified technical and professional talent for defense-related projects in a timely manner and in compliance with security requirements.

Main Tasks

  • In collaboration with the Talent Acquisition team, lead the full recruitment cycle for defense and security projects in accordance with operational priorities and program timelines;
  • Anticipate workforce needs, support bidding activities, and ensure the rapid mobilization of qualified talent;
  • Work closely with the AAA Canada recruitment team to align sourcing strategies, employer branding, and candidate management processes;
  • Develop sourcing strategies targeted at the security sector and specialized in technical fields across Canada;
  • Conduct structured, competency-based interviews and coordinate technical assessments with defense program managers and technical directors;
  • Build and maintain a database of skilled and experienced professionals in the defense sector while proactively mitigating skills shortages;
  • Provide market intelligence, comparative compensation analyses, and recruitment risk assessments to senior management;
  • Monitor key recruitment performance indicators (time-to-fill, quality of hires, security clearance eligibility, cost per hire), maintain the accuracy of the ATS system, and provide regular reports on talent acquisition
  • Track key performance indicators (time-to-hire, cost per hire, offer acceptance rate), maintain the integrity of ATS data, and provide forecasts and reports on the pipeline to management;
  • Participate in recruitment events such as job fairs and career expos;
  • Proactively participate in team meetings and gatherings;
  • Ensure the traceability of information;
  • Comply with AAA Canada policies, procedures, and processes;
  • Perform any other related tasks as requested by your immediate supervisor.

 Prerequisites- Profile

  •  Bachelor’s degree in human resources, business administration, or a related field;
  • 3 to 7 years of recruitment experience in unionized and non-unionized technical environments within the defense sector;
  • Solid knowledge of defense industry standards, government procurement environments, and regulated hiring processes;
  • Excellent understanding of security processes in Canada;
  • Knowledge of defense contractors and government procurement environments;
  • Fluency in French and English, both spoken and written;
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills;
  • Ability to work in a demanding “project” environment with tight deadlines;
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook);
  • CHRP/CHRL (or in the process of obtaining);
  • Eligible for required security clearances.
