Job Summary

We are looking for a dedicated Production Technician to join our team and support the operation of two ultra-high purity nitrogen plants (air separation units). The successful candidate will work as part of a team to maintain and operate the plants efficiently and safely, ensuring that production demands are met. Key responsibilities include adjusting plant operations, responding to alarms, performing routine maintenance tasks, and troubleshooting cryogenic gas systems.

 

Job Description

  • Start up and operate two ultra-high purity nitrogen plants (air separation units).
  • Make adjustments to plant operations using process control systems to meet changing production demands.
  • Collaborate with the onsite team to complete both operational and maintenance tasks.
  • Respond to plant alarms during nights and weekends when on call.
  • Perform daily rounds, take readings, and monitor plant systems.
  • Calibrate onsite gas analyzers.
  • Manage cryogenic tank inventories and supply to customers.
  • Complete preventative maintenance work orders according to the published PM schedule.
  • Perform maintenance on compressors, piping systems, cooling water systems, and other facility equipment.
  • Troubleshoot cryogenic gas systems and resolve issues promptly.
  • Read and interpret process and instrumentation diagrams (P&IDs).
  • Adhere to all HSE standards and maintain a strong focus on safety.

 

Skills Required

  • 1+ years of related operations experience, preferably in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
  • Proficiency with computers and familiarity with Microsoft Office/Google software.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment and demonstrate a self-motivated attitude.
  • Must be punctual, reliable, and have a positive, safety-first attitude.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills to interact with management and external customers.
  • Basic knowledge of operating consoles (plant HMIs) and understanding of process controls.
  • Familiarity with regulatory requirements for operating plants, including OSHA, EPA, and state/local regulations.
  • Highly organized with the ability to handle multiple tasks and prioritize work efficiently.
  • Must be part of an on-call schedule.
  • Ability to work extended hours and shift work, including 12-hour shifts during nights, weekends, and possibly holidays, as required to meet operational needs.

 

Education

  • High School Diploma or GED required

 

Pay Rate

  • $33 per hour

 

Additional Requirements

  • Shift: 5-5-4 shift
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs and climb ladders/stairs as required.
