Job Summary
If you're interested in a Technology Development Field Assistant job, then this is the best role for you! This temporary role supports field operations at various Technology Development (TD) locations across the U.S. Assignments can last up to nine months, during which you will report to the ARM or TDR overseeing the local field research program. As a Field Assistant, you’ll play a key role in generating high-quality product data and may also interact with client representatives and farmer cooperators.
Job Description
- Safety: Comply with all OSHA and client safety requirements.
- Pre-Planting: Assist with plot seed preparation, product delivery, field prep, plot staking, and regulatory compliance.
- Planting: Assist ARM or TDR with planting activities.
- Data Collection: Assist with required data collection throughout the season.
- Plot Maintenance: Support mowing, hand weeding, spraying border areas, and placing signage.
- Mid-Season Activities: Participate in plot tours, field training, and field days.
- Harvest: Assist and support all harvest activities within the region.
- Equipment Maintenance: Assist with preventative maintenance and basic equipment repairs.
- Regulatory Compliance: Understand and follow all USDA-APHIS and client stewardship requirements for regulated plot testing.
- Medium Equipment Hauling: Tow equipment using a trailer as needed.

Skills Required
- Experience 1-3 Years of Experience.
- Ability to operate farm equipment.
- Able to live and work in a remote environment.
- Familiarity with Windows Operating Systems/ basic computer skills.
Education/Training/Certifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent (GED).
- College degree: Prior agricultural experience or field research experience.
- Certified Pesticide Application License or ability to obtain a license.
Additional Requirements
- Must pass a drug screening and criminal background check.
- Shift: 07:00 AM
- Valid driver’s license
- Ability to lift to 70 lbs.
- Ability to pass pre-employment driver checks (MVR & FMCSA)
Pay Rate/Salary
- Estimated Salary: $23.00 to $31.50 per hour based on qualifications.
