Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Mid-Level Instrument Designer, you will be responsible for conducting field surveys and working with Smart Instrumentation (SI) to create and modify instrument indexes, wiring diagrams, and loops. This role requires a hands-on approach and a willingness to engage in fieldwork in the Freeport and Pasadena areas.

 

Job Description

  • Conduct field surveys to gather accurate data for instrumentation design projects.
  • Utilize Smart Instrumentation (SI) software to create and update instrument indexes, wiring diagrams, and loop drawings based on survey data.
  • Collaborate with engineers and project teams to ensure accurate and efficient design solutions.
  • Review and verify the accuracy of survey data and design documentation.
  • Ensure compliance with industry standards, company policies, and client requirements.
  • Participate in project meetings and provide technical support as needed.
  • Maintain clear and organized records of all design and survey work.

 

Skills Required

  • Qualifications:
    • Minimum of 3 years of experience in instrumentation design, preferably in the oil, gas, or energy industries.
    • Proficiency in Smart Instrumentation (SI) software, including creating indexes, wiring diagrams, and loop drawings.
    • Experience conducting field surveys and gathering data in industrial environments.
    • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in design work.
    • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
    • Strong communication skills to collaborate effectively with engineers, clients, and project teams.
    • Willingness to travel to field sites in the Freeport and Pasadena areas.
  • Preferred Qualifications:
    • Experience with additional design software and tools commonly used in instrumentation design.
    • Knowledge of industry standards and best practices for instrumentation design and field surveys.
    • Familiarity with safety protocols and procedures in industrial environments.

 

Education/Training/Certifications

  • High School diploma or GED.
