Seeking a Mechanical Engineer V with 7+ years of experience in HVAC and plumbing system design for power generation, substations, oil & gas, and water treatment facilities. Responsibilities include energy audits, code compliance reviews, and sustainable design implementation. Preferred qualifications include LEED AP certification, ASHRAE/ICC/NFPA standards knowledge, and experience with large-scale water-cooled chillers and Revit 3D modeling.
Job Description
- Design and Construction Activities
- Project Delivery Methods - Traditional Design-Bid-Build and Alternative Conceptual-Bid Build.
- Facility Types – Power Generation buildings, Substations, Oil & Gas structures, Water Treatment and Energy Storage buildings.
- Systems – HVAC and Plumbing.
- Type of Areas – Power Generation Hall, Administrative, Warehouse, Maintenance, Workshop, Laboratory, Chemical Storage & Handling, Electrical Distribution Center, Low & Medium Voltage Switchgear, Pump Areas, Engine Generator, Blowers/Air Compressors, Wastewater treatment building and Flammable & Combustible Liquids Storage.
- Studies
- Energy Audit/Efficiency - Engineering studies, system performance reviews, and energy compliance calculations
- Code Review/Application - Facility review for code compliance
- Sustainable Design/LEED - Application of sustainable strategies
Skills Required
- Preferred Qualifications:
- Self-Motivated, Problem Solving, Written Communications, Driven for Results, Quality Focused, Strong Listening Skills. Intermediate knowledge of engineering design principles and the following applicable design guides and standards related to HVAC, and plumbing system design. Including a basic knowledge of the following:
- International Codes Council (ICC) Suite of Codes
- ASHRAE Handbooks / Standards
- ASPE design handbooks
- SMACNA Standards
- NFPA standards
- Computer generated HVAC Heat loads, energy modeling and HVAC equipment sizing
- Technical Submittal reviewing process Bid reviewing process
- Microsoft Office Suite
- Bluebeam Revu
- Revit 3D Modeling.
- Person needs to be a LEED AP certified professional experienced in obtaining LEED’s certification for industrial buildings.
- Extensive experience with large-scale water-cooled chillers is preferred.

Education/Training/Certifications
- Minimum Qualifications:
- Requires a bachelor's degree in engineering from either a recognized accredited program in their home country or the country in which the professional is practicing.
- Most positions - depending on the nature of work performed as defined by the division - will typically require incumbents to have professional registration or licensure in their designated home office country or be in active pursuit* of such registration.
