Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Production Technician to join our team. This role is responsible for assembling and testing complex mechanical assemblies, often requiring precise tolerances. You will ensure that all work packages are processed efficiently and that equipment and parts are assembled according to specifications. Additionally, you will follow safety and quality guidelines to ensure that all equipment is delivered to the required standards.
Job Description
- Assemble and test complex mechanical assemblies in accordance with work orders and technical specifications.
- Ensure all work packages are processed in order and equipment/parts are assembled accurately.
- Execute tasks as defined in the Work Order package, maintaining a focus on quality and safety.
- Actively participate in the umbilical production process, developing expertise in one or more production areas.
- Observe and monitor the umbilical process, equipment, and signals, making adjustments as necessary (e.g., brakes, pumps, reels, compressors, water chillers, etc.).
- Operate and control carousels and tensioners, ensuring proper operation.
- Operate closing Epic equipment.
- Develop a thorough understanding of spooling route construction and accumulator construction.
- Gain knowledge in the spooling of umbilicals to installation reels.
- Participate in pre-meetings and assist with closing/bundling, extrusion, and load-out operations.
- Become certified as an outer sheathing repairer.
- Operate forklifts and/or overhead cranes as needed.
- Adhere to Health, Safety, Security, and Environmental (HSSE) standards as well as company quality standards.
Skills Required
- 3+ years of experience in Manufacturing/Assembly, including mechanical production.
- Experience in operating or working with heavy production equipment or in environments involving chemical processes, millwright work, pipe fitting, welding, control room operation, or other relevant areas.
- Experience in umbilical and subsea production.
- Knowledge of production line automation.
Education/Training/Certifications
- Highschool diploma or equivalent required
Additional Requirements
- Shifts vary, with morning shifts starting at 6 AM.
- Typically, 12-hour shifts with rotation.
- Schedules are subject to change based on project needs and may not follow a fixed pattern.
- Must be local to the Mobile area.
Pay Rate/Salary
- $20.00 per hour and higher depending on experience
