Overview
Quorum Software is seeking a motivated and collaborative Business Development Representative (BDR) with a strong interest in — or background from — the oil and gas industry to help fuel our growth. This role offers the opportunity to generate pipeline through proactive prospecting, event participation, and targeted campaigns that drive engagement and awareness within the energy sector.
As a BDR, you’ll be the first point of contact for prospects — qualifying leads, supporting events, and helping sales turn early interest into meaningful opportunities. You’ll partner closely with our sales and marketing teams to identify and engage with key players across the traditional oil and gas value chain as well as emerging energy segments.
We’re looking for someone energetic, outgoing, and proactive — a strong communicator who thrives on building relationships with industry professionals. Responsibilities
Quickly learn Quorum’s suite of energy software solutions and effectively communicate their value propositions to oil and gas operators, service companies, and energy investors.
Develop and execute prospecting strategies across upstream, midstream, and downstream markets, utilizing email, phone, and social media outreach.
Analyze internal and external data to identify opportunities within conventional energy operations and emerging transition initiatives.
Generate, evaluate, research, and nurture leads from the oil and gas sector to become qualified opportunities.
Collaborate with Sales and Marketing to design and execute campaigns targeting key oil and gas accounts and decision-makers.
Consistently achieve qualified opportunity quotas and contribute to territory revenue objectives.
Maintain CRM records with accurate contact, account, and activity data.
Represent Quorum Software at industry events, conferences, and networking sessions relevant to oil and gas.
Shadow sales counterparts in meetings and activities to gain deeper insight into customer challenges and Quorum’s consultative sales approach.
Other duties as assigned.
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree or higher in engineering, geoscience, business, finance, or another oil & gas–related discipline.
2–5 years of experience in business development, software sales, energy consulting, or financial analysis — ideally within the oil and gas or energy technology sector.
Familiarity with oil and gas operations, commercial workflows, or digital transformation initiatives (e.g., production accounting, land management, reserves management, or trading).
Fast learner with the ability to understand complex applications and business workflows in the energy sector.
Experience with Salesforce or other CRM systems preferred.
Experience with Outreach or similar sales engagement platforms a plus.
Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills in English; additional languages are an advantage.
Fearless and motivated — comfortable reaching out to new contacts and articulating value clearly.
Growth mindset — eager to learn about both traditional oil and gas markets and the evolving energy landscape.
Flexibility to adapt to a rapidly changing business environment.
