Bgesh is looking for eager and qualified Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA) to provide health care services at theCertified Registered Nurse Anesthetists CRNA in Belcourt, North Dakota. This is a Travel Assignment.

EXPERIENCE:

  • Minimum one (1) year of experience performing Anesthetic Services within the past year.

 

CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSURE/REGISTRATION:

  • Successful completion of NCLEX to receive RN licensure.
  • Current, valid, unrestricted RN license in a state, the District of Columbia, the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, or a Territory of the United States
  • Possess and maintain current CRNA registration with National Board of Certification and Recertification for Nurse Anesthetists (NBCRNA).
  • Basic Life Support (BLS)
  • Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS)
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)
  • Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP)

OTHER QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Ability to attain favorable adjudication for government clearance required by IHS
  • Ability to provide general Anesthetic services which include consultation, diagnostic, routine and minor/major surgical care of all patients.
  • Ability to counsel and educate patients, families, communities, and medical staff regarding general health care issues.
  • Ability to prescribe drugs and order tests necessary to provide general health care.
  • Ability to complete the medical record and other necessary documents regarding patient care in a timely, accurate manner via the Electronic Health Record System.
  • Ability to provide proof of immunizations.
  • Ability to pass and provide proof of fit for duty physical.

DUTIES:

  • Provide anesthesia services for patients who require care for complex and severe illness or problems and with immediate or serious threat to life. Services shall include outpatient, in-patient, and emergency services.
  • Conduct clinical examinations of patients assigned to his/her service.
  • Pre-operative work-up with a consultative note in the outpatient section of the patient chart and admission note.
  • Consult with other physicians on surgical problems.
  • Induce anesthesia for major and minor surgical operations on the integumentary, respiratory, gastrointestinal, genitourinary, and skeletal systems.
  • Responsible for the administration of regional and local anesthesia and post-operative treatments.
  • Post-operative follow-up will include daily rounds and other patient visits as necessary and indicated.
  • Timely completion of operative reports is required within a maximum of 24 hours after the procedure, and all discharge summaries and other outstanding medical records will be completed before the provider leaves the facility
  • Counsel and educate patients, families, community, and medical staff about general health care
  • Participate in on call for Anesthetic services.
  • Pre-operative and post-operative anesthesia evaluations will be made and properly recorded in the patient’s medical record as required by the Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations relative to the choice of anesthesia and the surgical or obstetrical procedure anticipated.
  • The pre-operative medications are administered, except in extreme emergency situations where the performance and recording of the evaluation would place the patient’s life in danger.
  • Responsible for inducing anesthesia, maintaining anesthesia at the required levels, and continue life support functions and including but not be limited to endotracheal intubations and extubating, insertion of arterial catheters, performing arterial punctures, identification and management of emergency anesthesia situations such as malignant hypothermia, supervision of ventilator assistance both by respirator and ventilator and cardiopulmonary resuscitation.
  • Recognize and take appropriate corrective action including the request for consultation when necessary for abnormal patient responses to anesthesia or any adjunctive medications or observation and resuscitative care until the patient has regained control of his/her vital functions.
  • Assess operative services care to ensure its quality.
  • Participate in a continual process of self-evaluation and strive for excellence in anesthesia services.
  • Participate in medical staff functions, such as medical program reviews, performance improvement activities and organizational functions, including attending committee meetings and accepting committee assignments.
  • Become familiar with and be guided by the I.H.S. formulary.
  • Follow I.H.S. procedures when prescribing drugs.
  • Meet all applicable Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) standards.
  • Other duties as assigned.

The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 30 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision.

SCHEDULE & PAY:

  • Full-time, M-F 7-3:30pm.
  • On Call: Nights, weekends, Holidays
  • Pay is Negotiable
