A webmaster is a person responsible for maintaining one or more websites. The webmaster ensures that the web servers, hardware and software are operating correctly, designing the website, generating and revising web pages, A/B testing, replying to user comments, and examining traffic through the site. Core responsibilities of the webmaster may include the regulation and management of access rights of different users of a website or content management system, the appearance and setting up website navigation.
Qualifications:
- Shall either possess a Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field of study; OR five (5) years of Webmaster related experience.
Requirements:
- Shall be able to design, develop, and support web content with Blogs, RSS/News feeds, audio and video, and social networking services and their associated APIs. The Contractor shall be able to create SharePoint pages and content utilizing basic web parts, administering permissions and groups, updating information, creating workflows, and basic maintenance procedures.
- Shall be able to perform reviews and audit actions for websites and online content for relevant and timely information, compliance with regulations and policy.
- Shall have solid oral and written communications skills.
- Shall be able to perform maintenance, administration, and enhancement of websites and web based services.
- Shall be able to design and implement links to other DOD websites that comply with DOD and U.S. Army G-6 standards and regulations.
- Shall be able to analyze and assess existing and emerging technologies to determine relevance to existing web environments including, but not limited to, software assessments, standardization assessments, and configuration topography/site structure assessments.
- Shall be able to identify changes necessary to upgrade websites and services.
- Shall be familiar with Section 508 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973 and the Architectural and Transportation Barriers Compliance Board Electronic and Information Technology (EIT) Accessibility Standards.
Experience:
- Must have experience in web development and webmaster support as follows: performing graphical design; site planning; and layout of web applications, websites, and web related services and technology utilizing dynamic and static web interfaces using HTML, DHTML, VB Script, Java Scripts, and Cascading Style Sheets.
