JOB DESCRIPTION
Ekkinox is seeking a Dedicated Driver Supervisor (DDS) to oversee dedicated driver accounts within the transportation sector. This role reports to the PM operations manager and interacts with drivers, managers, customer service, clients and industry professionals, ensuring timely freight service while maintaining compliance with company policies and best practices.
RESPONSIBILITIES AND REQUIREMENTS
- Driver coordination: Schedule and manage drivers for dedicated service runs, ensuring efficiency and well-being.
- Operations oversight: Monitor freight deliveries, address exceptions(e.g: Customer location issues, return freight problems), and update management.
- Staffing & Training: Assist with hiring, interview candidates, prepare training plans, and oversee new hire progress.
- Payroll & Compliance: Ensure accurate driver payments, resolve discrepancies, and manage safety equipment procurement
- Equipment & Safety: Coordinate vehicle maintenance, rental truck procurement, and safety procedures for driver injuries.
- Customer & Vendor Liaison: Maintain client relationships, address feedback, and coordinate logistics with rental and Maintenance providers.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills across all levels
- Proactive problem-solving and performance improvement mindset
- Proficient in MS office (Word, excel and PowerPoint)
- Ability to analyze client needs and provide effective solutions
- Strong diplomacy, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills
- Proven ability to manage people, meet deadlines, and deliver outstanding service
- Minimum 2 years of dispatching or supervisory experience in transportation
- Post-secondary education in transportation
- Excellent teamwork, leadership, and adaptability in high-pressure environments
- Experience in 24/7 transportation operations is preferred.
OFFER AND BENEFITS
- Full time, Permanent role
- Salary of $70,000 - $80,000/Annum
- Mon to Fri schedule - 7:30 PM to 4:00 AM
- Group insurance after three months of employment
