Electrical & Instrumentation Technician 1st Class
Location: Baltimore, MD
Pay: $46 - $54 per hour + Sign-On Bonus
Schedule: Monday – Friday (6:30 AM – 3:00 PM), 8-10 hour shifts

  • On-call rotation every 4 weeks
  • Overtime opportunities (15-20% annually)

 

Our client is seeking an experienced Electrical & Instrumentation Technician 1st Class to support critical power generation operations at their facility. This role is ideal for industrial electricians or military-trained electrical technicians with a background in power generation, troubleshooting, and high-voltage systems.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain, troubleshoot, and repair electrical, instrumentation, and control systems.
  • Work with 480V systems (95% of the time), with opportunities to handle 4160V up to 18.8kV for experienced candidates.
  • Read and interpret schematics, including P&IDs, loop sheets, and motor elementaries.
  • Diagnose and repair issues using PLC/DCS programming.
  • Operate and maintain Motor Control Centers, switchgear, and turbine generator controls.
  • Follow strict safety protocols and work within regulatory compliance.

 

What We’re Looking For:

  • 6+ years of experience as an industrial electrician or military-trained electrical technician.
  • Strong background in power generation and electrical troubleshooting.
  • Ability to work independently and respond to emergency repairs as needed.
  • No state licensing required in Maryland.
