Location: Al Jabar Air Base, Kuwait

Compensation: $95,000 - $110,000

Security Clearance: Must have a current, valid US Secret Security Clearance.

Position Summary: We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Aircraft Arresting System Technician (3E0X2) to join our team at Al Jabar Air Base in Kuwait. This role is critical for the operation and maintenance of power generation and aircraft arresting systems, ensuring the safe and efficient launch and recovery of aircraft.

Key Responsibilities:

- System Installation and Maintenance:

- Install, remove, and operate electrical power generating and control systems, automatic transfer switches, aircraft arresting systems, and associated equipment.

- Perform hands-on routine inspections, preventative maintenance, condition monitoring, troubleshooting, and corrective/emergency repairs on power plant MV distribution systems and apparatus.

- Diagnose problems and repair or replace defective parts as required.

- Power Generation and Distribution:

- Maintain, modify, and repair electrical power generating and control systems, including diesel generators and associated mechanical, hydraulic, and control systems.

- Operate and maintain medium voltage switchgear systems with local and remote monitoring, SCADA, and PLC control systems to ensure maximum system reliability.

- Aircraft Arresting Systems:

- Install, position, rewind, and pretension aircraft arresting systems. Certify these systems as required.

- Activate airfield arresting systems such as crash barriers and cables during emergency landing situations.

- Direct aircraft launch and recovery operations using hand or light signals.

- Safety and Compliance:

- Inspect operational activities for safety precautions and instruct employees against occupational hazards.

- Ensure compliance with all safety policies, regulations, OSHA, and NFPA requirements.

- Maintain records of airplane launches, recoveries, and equipment maintenance.

- Technical Support and Troubleshooting:

- Use precision test equipment to troubleshoot malfunctions and inspect parts for excessive wear.

- Interpret data readings and results of equipment checks to identify equipment or process problems and take appropriate corrective actions.

- Perform routine installation, maintenance, and repairs on electric power control equipment, high voltage switchgear, substations, transformers, and distribution networks.

- Record-Keeping and Communication:

- Assist in maintaining technical libraries and record-keeping to document all procedures necessary for assigned responsibilities.

- Participate in department communications activities and attend meetings.

- Ensure required documentation and reporting are submitted in a timely manner.

Qualifications and Required Items:

- **Must be MAAS/BAK-12 Factory Trained & Certified**

- Prior military service in AFSC 3E072, Power Production Journeyman, is preferred.

- Technical Skills:

- Proficient in using various hand and power tools, shop equipment, and MV testing devices such as multimeters, power analyzers, and insulation resistance testers.

- Experience with synchronized diesel power generators, SCADA systems, and PLC controls.

- Intermediate skills in Microsoft Word, Outlook, and Excel.

- Clearance and Travel:

- Must have a valid U.S. Passport and government issued Secret Security Clearance.

- Must pass medical screening prior to deploying.

Work Environment

- This position involves working in an international environment with potential exposure to arid climatic conditions.

- Scheduled work hours can be up to 72 hours per week.
