Position Summary:
The Senior Packaging Designer is responsible for developing impactful and eye-catching packagingfor a variety of food and beverage products. This role is crucial for embodying the brand's essence and meeting marketing goals.
You'll work closely with marketing, product development, and manufacturing teams, managing the entire design process from concept to production. Whether it's private label or licensed designs, your main objective is to translate creative ideas into distinctive packaging that resonates with consumers.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in graphic design or related field.
5+ years of professional experience in packaging design, with mandatory experience in the food, beverage, or cosmetics industries.
Solid track record of working with licensed or branded products, clearly demonstrated in your portfolio—this experience is essential for success in our product portfolio.
Experience collaborating with cross-functional teams including marketing, product development, and supply chain.
Fluent or professional-level English communicationis required.
Experience leading packaging design for B2B or startup clients, especially within the U.S. market, is a plus.
Exposure to licensed or branded products (e.g., Hallmark, Rainbow Brite, Skippy) is a plus.
Hard Skills:
Advanced proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign) and PowerPoint.
Strong expertise in visual communication, typography, and branding systems.
In-depth knowledge of dielines, color specifications, materials, and print production processes.
Familiarity with food labeling regulations and FDA packaging standards.
Demonstrated experience working with die-cuts, including creating and modifying dielines for various packaging formats.
Skills in 3D rendering or packaging mockup software (e.g., Esko Studio, Dimension) are highly valued.
Responsibilities:
Develop innovative packaging concepts that align with brand strategy and market trends, specifically for food and beverage products.
Prepare visual assets, mock-ups, and presentations for executive reviews and client meetings.
Manage and maintain packaging specifications, dielines, and version control across multiple product lines.
Collaborate closely with printers and vendors to ensure the highest quality production-ready files.
Ensure all packaging complies with branding, regulatory, and environmental standards, including food labeling and FDA requirements.
Soft Skills:
Effectively presents design rationale to stakeholders and negotiates with vendors.
Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet critical deadlines.
Resourceful and adaptable when navigating design or production challenges.
Able to shift priorities based on project needs and timelines.
