We are looking for candidates for the following position in our Breda office:

Operator (1.0 FTE)

Are you interested in strengthening our Livestock Express team? We are looking for an Operator to strengthen our team.

 

Livestock Express is the world’s largest provider of premium livestock tonnage with almost 60 years’ experience. Our modern, purpose-built fleet of livestock carriers transports between 600,000 and 750,000 head of livestock on an annual basis. Animals transported are mainly cattle, but we also occasionally handle sheep, horses and goats. Our daily focus and target is to provide safe and reliable services, meeting and exceeding the highest animal-welfare standards.

 

A dedicated fleet of 13 vessels is operated by a highly qualified and skilled crew pool, with extensive livestock-handling experience. Commercial and technical management, vessel operations, crewing and QHSE tasks are carried out in house by Livestock Express teams in the Netherlands and Singapore. From these offices, approximately 20 staff support the Company’s activities.

 

What will you do?
As Operator you will be responsible for:

  • Efficient implementation, execution and supervision of assigned commercial contracts, time and voyage charters, ensuring the highest financial results;
  • Facilitating smooth communication between various parties (vessels, customers, technical managers, port agents etc.) involved in the execution of commercial contracts;
  • Liaising with both vessels and clients;
  • Maintaining a contract administration for all assigned vessels;
  • Providing reports and analyses to maximise effectiveness of commercial contracts;
  • Assisting in fixing bunker stems and appointing port agents;
  • In addition, you understand and anticipate customer needs for future requirements.

In this position, you report to the Operations Manager.

Who are we looking for?
Our preferred candidate has:

  • A Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Maritime Operations, Shipping and Logistics or equivalent;
  • Experience in a similar commercial position;
  • Seagoing experience and knowledge of voyage operations/administration software would be an advantage;
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills and a commercial attitude;
  • Excellent written and verbal communication and reporting skills in English.
