We are looking for candidates for the following position at our Breda office:

 

Performance & Engineering Officer (1 FTE)

 

With headquarters located in Breda (the Netherlands), Vroon employs about 1,400 professionals in offices around the world and on board a diverse fleet of approximately 65 deepsea and offshore vessels. The Company is active through various subsidiaries and under different brand names, with a focus on its specialised fleets of product and high-heat tankers, livestock carriers and offshore-support vessels.

 

From our Breda office, approximately 95 staff support the Company’s activities.

 

The Technical & Procurement Department supports our offices and vessels in various areas, including energy efficiency.

 

What will you do?

In this position, you are responsible for:

  • Managing and delivering projects within our Performance & Engineering (P&E) team;
  • Investigating vessel requirements;
  • Monitoring and reporting emissions in compliance with EU and IMO regulations;
  • Researching and advising on best practices and cost-effective solutions;
  • Supporting technical staff with implementation and fleet-wide compliance;
  • Identifying and developing cases for energy-performance optimisation;
  • Coaching crew members and technical staff on energy management;
  • Contributing to software development for energy-performance monitoring;
  • Involvement in retrofit and newbuilding projects.

In this position, you report to the Performance & Engineering Manager.

Who are we looking for?

Our preferred candidate has:

  • Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Naval Architecture, Marine Engineering, or equivalent;
  • Strong project-management skills;
  • Analytical and critical-thinking abilities;
  • Good commercial awareness;
  • Ability to manage multiple projects;
  • Excellent communication and reporting skills in English;
  • Shipboard experience and AutoCAD knowledge are a plus.
