We are looking for candidates for the following position in our Breda office:

OPEX Accounting Administrator (0.8-1.0 FTE)

 

With headquarters located in Breda (the Netherlands), Vroon employs about 1,400 professionals in offices around the world and on board a diverse fleet of approximately 65 vessels. The Company is active - through various subsidiaries and under different brand names - with a focus on its specialised deepsea fleet of product and high-heat tankers, livestock carriers and emergency response and rescue vessels.

 

From our Breda office, approximately 100 staff support the Company’s activities.

 

The OPEX Accounting Department provides support to the Company’s Management Companies and shore-based employees worldwide.

 

What will you do?

In this position, you are responsible for:

  • Processing financial and accounting transactions and resolving any related problems;
  • Performing the month-end tasks of an allocated division, ensuring the accuracy of the reported figures;
  • Preparing monthly balance-sheet account reconciliations;
  • Preparing journal entries for monthly, quarterly and year-end close-to-record accruals and proper balance-sheet classifications;
  • Performing additional ad-hoc tasks to support the wider finance team.

 

In this position, you report to the Financial Controller.

Who are we looking for?

Our preferred candidate has:

  • A relevant intermediate vocational education qualification (MBO+/HBO or equivalent);
  • Good knowledge of financial systems;
  • Key competencies: an accurate, stress-resistant, focussed, hands-on, analytical and problem-solving team player, with attention for planning and organisation;
  • Previous experience in an accounting role and knowledge of ERP systems, such as Microsoft AX Dynamics, would be an advantage;
  • Our ideal candidate has essential data-entry skills, an eye for detail and a familiarity with Accounts receivable and other general-ledger-related tasks;
  • Hands-on experience in month-end close activities, a very good understanding of all balance-sheet accounts, plus experience with Dutch VAT returns are also desirable;
  • Excellent verbal and written communication and reporting skills in English and Dutch;
