Our client produces heavy specialty steel fabricated products for a range of applications throughout the United States and globally.

 

Job Summary

Our client is currently seeking a detail-oriented Prefabrication Technical Estimator who will support the estimating team in preparing complete and professional bid packages for large, custom-fabricated bridges, gates, dock structures, and related heavy steel projects

 

Job Description

  • Review project specifications and bid requirements to identify all required proposal documents, including scopes of work, qualifications, company resumes, project portfolios, schedules, clarifications, and other technical submittals that must accompany pricing
  • Assist with coordinating required submittals and drafting technical documents such as fabrication plans, quality documents, or project-specific procedures
  • A good fit could be someone with experience in proposal coordination, project engineering, technical documentation, estimating support, or construction administration who is comfortable working closely with estimators, project managers, engineers, and shop personnel

 

Skills Required

  • Technical Aptitude: Able to use proper grammar and be able to write the scope of work for the bids they would be estimating
  • With experience in estimating complex steel structures, bridges, and hydraulic structures, but would not be a requirement if they could simply review drawings and specifications and be able to generate a logically descriptive bid document that would be submitted for bid applications
  • Detail-oriented technical writer with strong organizational skills
  • Ability to read and interpret specifications, and some familiarity with fabrication, construction, estimating, or heavy industrial projects

 

Education/Training/Certifications

  • High School Degree or Equivalent

 

Additional Requirements

  • Must be able to pass drug screen & criminal background check 
  • Work Hours: Mon to Fri, 7:00 am – 4:00 pm. Occasional overtime or weekend work may be required to meet bid deadlines, though this is infrequent.

 

Pay Rate/Salary

  • $95,000 annually. Actual compensation is subject to variation due to such factors as education, experience, skillset, and/or location
