Job Description

  • Ensure all operations comply with federal, state, and local regulations, including FDA, OSHA, EPA, DOT, and cGMP.
  • Maintain and ensure all necessary licenses, permits, and training documentation are up-to-date.
  • Investigate incidents and lead corrective actions.
  • Lead and enforce safety protocols to ensure a safe working environment for all employees, contractors, and visitors.
  • Maintain the plant hazard analysis and oversee the implementation of safety safeguards.
  • Oversee compliance with the Management of Change procedure.
  • Oversee day-to-day operations to ensure safety, reliability, and efficiency of plant operations.
  • Ensure compliance with company Health, Safety, and Environmental policies.
  • Perform process troubleshooting and make plant decisions to maintain operational standards.
  • Develop and implement predictive and preventive maintenance strategies to minimize unplanned downtime.
  • Set high standards for housekeeping to improve the company’s image.
  • Ensure the delivery of the required quality and quantity of products to meet business needs.
  • Lead by example and promote a safety-first culture.
  • Implement and manage the Qualification and Training programs for Production Technicians.
  • Conduct annual performance reviews and implement individual development plans for employees.
  • Provide training, coaching, and support to help employees improve performance.
  • Ensure compliance with administrative and operational policies and procedures.
  • Monitor and optimize plant operating costs within the authorized budget.
  • Identify opportunities for cost reductions within delegated authority.
  • Participate in the Capital Planning Process and Yearly Expense Budgeting Process.
  • Control overtime and improve efficiency and availability indicators.
  • Utilize national purchasing agreements and frame agreements.

 

Skills Required

  • Proven experience in plant management, preferably in the Air Separation or Carbon Dioxide liquefaction industry, or other applicable process plant industries.
  • Strong knowledge of regulatory requirements for plant operations, including OSHA, EPA, FDA, and Process Safety Management.
  • Ability to manage and optimize operating costs and budgets.
  • Strong communication and team leadership skills.
  • Familiarity with commercial agreements and customer relations.
  • Mechanical and electrical aptitude with the ability to troubleshoot and maintain equipment.
  • Strong computer and business application skills, with the ability to manage and organize plant documentation.
  • Understanding of Distributed Process Control (DCS) or PLC operation and troubleshooting.
  • Strong passion for promoting Diversity, Inclusion, and Respect in the workplace.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead by example and drive safety culture.
  • Exceptional organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities efficiently.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to foster positive relationships within the team and with other departments.

 

Education/Training/Certifications

  • High School Diploma (required);
  • Relevant technical certifications or higher education is a plus.
  • 4-10 years of plant leadership experience specifically in continuous chemical processes (not batch processes). 

 

Additional Requirements

  • Shift: M-F flexible, 40 hours per week, East Coast 
  • Ideal candidates will have experience in a petrochemical, chemical, or refinery environment.

Salary

  • $130,000 per year and higher depending on experience and education
  • Extra Bonuses
