Job Summary

The Associate Engineering Technician supports the development of high-quality engineering deliverables for complex infrastructure projects. Working under general supervision, this role performs technical tasks requiring intermediate knowledge of engineering principles and practices. The position focuses on the creation, modification, and maintenance of site development plans using industry-standard design tools such as Autodesk Civil 3D and/or Bentley MicroStation.

 

Job Description

  • Support engineering teams in the development of technical deliverables under general supervision
  • Create, update, and maintain technical drawings, documentation, and project files
  • Develop site development plans using Autodesk Civil 3D and/or Bentley MicroStation
  • Perform basic computations, including material quantity estimates and dimensional checks
  • Prepare alignments, pipe networks, plan/profile sheets, grading plans, and surfaces
  • Coordinate deliverables with other project disciplines to minimize design conflicts and interferences
  • Apply knowledge of company Quality Program standards to ensure accurate and compliant deliverables
  • Stay current with applicable standards, systems, document control practices, and departmental procedures
  • Support continuous improvement and change management initiatives
  • Utilize digital tools including CAD, BIM, and 3D modeling platforms to enhance project outcomes
  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineering technicians
  • Proactively research and apply new technologies and evolving processes

 

Skills Required

  • Typically a minimum of 2 years of related work experience
  • Must Proficiency in Autodesk Civil 3D and/or Bentley MicroStation
  • Working knowledge of: Alignments, Pipe networks, Plan and profile sheets, Sections
  • Proposed grading and surface modeling
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Ability to interpret design inputs and translate them into accurate technical deliverables
  • Effective coordination and communication skills

 

Education/Training/Certifications

  • High School Degree or Equivalent
  • Associate Degree in Drafting or Engineering Design-Related Technology preferred

 

Additional Requirements

  • Ability to complete pre-employment onboarding requirements (if selected), which may including Criminal/civil background check, Drug screening, and Motor vehicle records search

 

Pay Rate/Salary

  • Pay Rate $55.75/ hr (Actual compensation is subject to variation due to such factors as education, experience, skillset, and/or location)
