Job Summary

Field Operation Associate assist in planting, pollinating, harvesting, threshing, shipping, weeding, preparing fields, preparing seed, sampling, detasseling, rogueing, and other field and seed activities related to crops and fields.

 

Job Description

  • May operate a tractor, combine, or harvester.
  • The majority of field labor activities occur outdoors.
  • Assist in the maintenance and improvement of the farms and assets.
  • Provide support for the client's Safety program by adhering to all safety policies and attendance at regular company sponsored safety meetings.
  • Assist by carrying out other duties as assigned.
  • Handle repetitive job tasks.
  • May drive a company vehicle to bring materials and equipment to and from work sites/fields.
  • May operate farming equipment such as a sprayer or thresher.

Skills Required

  • 1-3 years of experience
  • Activities will require bending and lifting, long periods of sitting or standing.
  • Must be able to read and write, to understand verbal and written task and safety instructions delivered in English, and to perform assigned tasks accurately.
  • Must be able to adhere to all client SOPs when carrying out assigned tasks and to support all site safety requirements.
  • Must be able to function as a team member, and to take daily direction from supervisors and managers.
  • Outdoor conditions cannot be controlled and therefore the worker will be exposed to uneven walking/working surfaces, mud, insects, heat and cold extremes, and the sun.
  • Must be able to lift weights over 25lbs.
  • Ability to perform tasks at waist level and below (bending over).

 

Education/Training/Certifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent (GED).

 

Additional Requirements

  • Must be able to pass drug screen.
  • Shift: 06:00 AM
  • Extended hours or shift work may be requested during the peak seasons.

 

Pay Rate/Salary

  • Estimated Salary: $14.00 to $30.00 per hour based on qualifications.
