Job Summary

If you're interested in an Entry Level Biologist job, then this is the best role for you! This role studies the fundamental principles of plant life and evaluates the effects of environmental and physical conditions on plant growth. Performs a variety of tasks using standard concepts, practices, and procedures within the field. Works under general supervision, relying on limited experience and judgment, with some creativity and flexibility required to accomplish goals.

Job Description

• Work with row crops including canola, corn, cotton, and soybeans in greenhouse and growth chamber environments.
• Perform daily plant-related activities such as sowing, plant care, transplanting, harvesting, discarding plant material, cleaning, and seed processing.
• Support controlled-environment plant growth operations with duties varying day to day.
• Maintain accurate handling of plants and materials, ensuring attention to detail throughout all tasks.

Skills Required

• Knowledge of basic plant biology and growth principles.
• Ability to perform repetitive and detail-oriented tasks accurately.
• Capability to stand for extended periods of time.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to work effectively under general supervision.

Education/Training/Certifications

• Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Agronomy, Biology, Horticulture, or another life science discipline.

Additional Requirements

• Must pass a drug screening and criminal background check
• Work schedule is 8:00 AM
• Experience working with plants in controlled environments is preferred.
• Commercial greenhouse experience is an asset.
• Ability to work in elevated temperatures during warmer months.
• Willingness to participate in rotational weekend work as required.

Pay Rate/Salary

• Estimated Salary: $27.21 to $35.21 per hour based on qualifications.
