Job Summary

We are looking for individuals to join our client’s team as Radiation Therapist. You will administer prescribed radiation therapy treatments to patients under the direction of a Radiation Oncologist. This role ensures precise patient positioning, safe operation of therapy equipment, accurate documentation, and compliance with all applicable protocols and New York State Department of Health (NYSDOH) regulations.

 

Job Description

  • Administer radiation therapy treatments safely and accurately according to physician prescriptions.
  • Prepare treatment rooms and equipment; ensure correct patient positioning for each session.
  • Explain procedures to patients and caregivers; provide education and address concerns.
  • Monitor patients during treatment for reactions or discomfort and report changes to the Radiation Oncologist.
  • Maintain detailed treatment records and documentation in compliance with regulatory and safety standards.
  • Operate, calibrate, and assist in maintaining radiation therapy equipment.
  • Collaborate with radiation oncologists, dosimetrists, nurses, and other healthcare team members.
  • Follow radiation safety protocols and participate in quality assurance and performance improvement activities.

 

Skills Required

  • Minimum 1 year of experience as a Radiation Therapist in a clinical or hospital setting.

 

Education/Training/Certifications

  • Valid Radiation Therapist license issued by the New York State Department of Health (NYSDOH). Primary Source Verification required.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) preferred.

 

Additional Requirements

  • Shift time:  8:00 AM-4:00 PM

Pay Rate

  • Up to $50.00 per hour depending on experience
