Job Summary
Our client is seeking a Project Manager / Electrical & Instrumentation Lead with strong experience in machinery safety, automation, and control systems. The ideal candidate will oversee coordination between onsite and offshore teams, ensure compliance with ANSI/OSHA and IEC/ISO standards, and manage installation, commissioning, and validation of machine safety systems.
Job Description
- Able to assist plant team in process start up and validation of machinery safety guarding integration
- Ability to coordinate between onsite & offshore engineering team, Client team and construction contractors
- Address all the safety hazards with compliance to ANSI/OSHA and IEC/ISO Machinery Safety Standard
- Engineers should be able to understand Panel Engineering, Study the drawings/documents, I&C Machine Safety/Guarding design.
- Should be able to ensure that installation & commissioning at site as per the design drawings.
- Able to present desired information to the customers to facilitate decision making.
- Ability to effectively represent information and respond to questions in a meeting environment.
- Familiarity with relevant codes and standards applicable to FMCG Plants and NEC standards.
- Instrument Selection - All types of field instruments. Exposure to selection of instruments and systems for Hazardous areas. Inter-Disciplinary Activities – P&ID review and update, 3-D Model review, IDR/IDC, Participation in HAZOP / SIL Reviews.
- Safety Control System: Experience with Control Systems – PLC, package control systems
- Control System Specification, Architecture Design, Communication Protocols, FF, Profibus, Modbus etc.
Skills Required
- Knowledge of Machinery Safety guarding, Machine Automation, Packaging equipment’s.
- Experience in performing Risk Assessment of Machines to identify hazards, estimate and evaluate to bring it to acceptable level for energy isolation electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic etc.
- Experience in design of machine guarding safety circuits, elementary drawings, cable schedule, bill of Material etc.
- Knowledge of Performance Level Calculation Requirements as per ISO13849 -1 & 2.
- Experience in installation & commissioning supervision of machine guarding designs
- Good Communication Skills, Project Management Skills, Vendor Management,
- Should have experience in Panel Engineering and Instrumentation & control: Instrument Datasheets, I/O List, Loop Drawings, Hook Up Drawings Location plans, Control System Architecture Drawing Preparation, Instrument and JB Plot Plan, 3D Model understanding & Preparation of Cables Trays, Panel, Installation of field instruments, etc.
- Experience in AutoCAD Electrical preferred
- Good oral and written English language skills.
- Strong Technical writing skills.
- Experience in preparation / review / approval of following procurement deliverables; Material Requisition, Purchase Requisition and Vendor Drawing Review and approvals for Field Instrumentation and Control Systems.
- Knowledge of FAT / SAT of control systems
- Experience with safety control systems from reputed vendors like Rockwell/ Pilz/ Schemersal/ Sick/ ABB/ Banner/ Festo/ SMC/ Ross/ Siemens is desirable
Education/Training/Certifications
- BE / B Tech - Instrumentation and Control
- Qualification or TUV Certification on Machinery Safety (Highly Preferable).
