Job Summary
The Mechanical Technician is responsible for ensuring the timely delivery of equipment to meet operational demands. This role focuses on reducing maintenance-related downtime, improving maintenance efficiency, and supporting productivity within the Maintenance Base (MB). The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, process-driven, and committed to continuous improvement across maintenance processes and asset management.
Job Description
- Perform maintenance on assigned equipment in accordance with established maintenance programs and reliability-centered maintenance strategies. Ensure all work is accurately recorded in the
- Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) and conducted according to standard work procedures.
- Maintain strict transactional discipline within Technology Lifecycle Management (TLM) business systems, accurately documenting materials used, labor hours, equipment movements, work orders, maintenance history, and parts consumption.
- Ensure compliance with TLM Product Line and Maintenance Base standards, procedures, and operational guidelines.
- Actively participate in continuous improvement initiatives aimed at enhancing asset utilization, optimizing cost of service delivery (CoSD), and reducing equipment turnaround time. Contribute to
- efforts that minimize downtime due to maintenance, parts delays, failures, and work-in-process.
- Assist in improving the efficiency and productivity of the broader maintenance team. Support initiatives that streamline processes and eliminate inefficiencies.
- Execute CoSD-related projects such as planned repair, refurbishment, and reuse of components to reduce operational costs.
- Take part in failure investigations and root-cause analysis activities as assigned, helping identify corrective and preventive measures.
- Maintain alignment with the TLM Competency Management System and complete all required training and competency assessments.
Skills Required
- Technical diploma, vocational training, or equivalent experience in mechanical maintenance, industrial technology, or a related field.
- Hands-on experience with mechanical equipment maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair.
- Ability to read and follow technical procedures, maintenance programs, and work instructions.
- Strong communication and documentation skills, with the ability to follow standardized processes.
- Proficiency with CMMS or similar maintenance information systems is preferred.
- Experience in industrial, energy, oil & gas, or equipment service environments is preferred.
- Familiarity with reliability-centered maintenance strategies is preferred.
- Experience participating in continuous improvement or lean initiatives is preferred.
- Understanding of root-cause analysis and failure investigation methodologies is preferred.
Education
- High school diploma or equivalent required;
Pay Rate
- $18 or higher depending on experience
