Job Summary

Our client is currently seeking for Powder Coat Technician who is responsible for ensuring that parts are painted properly according to customer specifications while meeting all quality standards; pretreat, clean, mask, prime and powder coat a variety of parts as needed; perform required quality checks including 1st piece, in-process, and final inspections.

 

Job Description

  • Identifying, picking, and returning of powder boxes correctly according to a work schedule
  • Electrostatic powder coating of products of varying sizes and material in a spray booth
  • Ability to spray powder to the correct thickness range as specified by the engineering department
  • Powder coater is responsible for the cleaning of the spray gun and paint booth used that day
  • Set up and take down of materials to be sprayed
  • Comply with all company policies, rules, guidelines and behavior expectations
  • Perform other duties as requested, directed, or assigned

 

Skills Required

  • Minimum 6 months Paint Shop experience
  • Basic knowledge of the powder coating process
  • Ability to effectively and efficiently communicate information and respond to questions from shop lead, supervisor, and other departments
  • Excellent hand/eye coordination
  • Must be able to multi-task
  • Ability to understand engineering design drawings
  • Must be able to work independently and efficiently
  • Self-motivated and detail oriented

 

Education/Training/Certifications

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent

 

Additional Requirements

  • Physical Requirements:
    • Lift/carry up to 50 lbs. for short distances
    • Stand for long periods of time
    • Adhere to all PPE requirements
  • Working Environment:
    • Work will be performed in a powder coating paint shop environment with exposure to extreme climate conditions
    • Tobacco-Free facility
    • A dress code appropriate for paint shop conditions is expected.  All employees are expected to project a professional image
    • Employees may be subject to search, random drug and alcohol testing
  • Shift Schedule: 2nd Shift 2:30pm -11:00pm

 

Pay Rate/Salary

  • $16.00 - $20.00/hr depending on experience. Actual compensation is subject to variation due to such factors as education, experience, skill set and / or location.
