Job Summary

We are looking for individual to join our client’s team as Certified Medical Coder focusing on outpatient coding. The ideal candidate will accurately code outpatient medical records, ensure compliance with federal, payer, and facility coding guidelines, and support coding quality and accuracy within the organization.

 

Job Description

  • Medical coding in an outpatient setting; must possess proficient computer skills (e.g., MS Word, Excel) and be proficient in ICD-10-CM, CPT, and encoder software.
  • Apply federal, payer, and facility-specific coding and billing regulations.
  • Review clinical documentation for clarity, completeness, and compliance.
  • Research and resolve coding-related questions or discrepancies.
  • Utilize coding software such as 3M/HDS, EPIC, and Encoder tools efficiently.
  • Provide guidance and support to other coding staff when needed.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of coding standards, regulatory requirements, and best practices.

 

Skills Required

  • Minimum 4+ years of outpatient coding experience.
  • Must have EPIC and 3M experience
  • ED coding experience required.
  • Certified coder with strong inpatient coding background is a plus.
  • Candidate should be able to work with minimal training.

 

Education/Training/Certifications

  • High School Diploma/GED, AHIMA, RHIA or RHIT and/or CCP.
  • Certification: CCS OR CPC required.

 

Additional Requirements

  • Shift: 8:00 AM-4:00 PM
  • Work Arrangement: Starts 1–2 weeks of onsite, then transitions to remote work once duties are mastered.

 

 Pay Rate

  • Up to $38.00 per hour depending on experience
