Job Summary

If you're interested in an Entry Level Packaging Operator job, then this is the best role for you! This role performs all duties related to inspection and packaging of production lots, including cleaning and upkeep of the inspection and packaging areas. Works within the Packaging Department to visually inspect and package pharmaceutical products.

 

Job Description

  • Visually inspect product vials for defects, media-filled vials for contamination (turbidity), and packaging components for quality.
  • Follow all cGMPs and complete data recording contemporaneously in associated BPRs/EBRs and inventory systems.
  • Assemble product and components for packaging operations according to production schedule, BOMs, or supervisor instructions.
  • Perform inventory adjustments and material movements in inventory systems.
  • Set up packaging line and equipment; safely operate equipment for packaging operations and component preparation.
  • Distribute components, supplies, and products to packaging stations; unload products from storage containers and check for defects and correct lot information.
  • Organize and remove product in and out of 2–8°C cold rooms.
  • Secure and store all in-process products and components properly.
  • Move skids, trays, hand trucks, and other containers as required, seal, stack, and secure cases of packaged product for shipping transport.
  • Perform line clearances, count, and reconcile products and components; maintain safety and cGMP compliance.

 

Skills Required

  • Ability to read, write, speak, and comprehend English for instructions, SOPs, BPRs, etc.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work weekends, holidays, and overtime as required.
  • Acceptable attendance and performance record.
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
  • Basic computer skills and math functions (add, subtract, multiply, divide).
  • SAP knowledge and proficiency in writing/executing SAP notifications.
  • Ability to maintain housekeeping in work areas per cGMP.

 

Education/Training/Certifications

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Experience in a pharmaceutical or biotechnology company preferred.
  • Experience operating automated equipment is preferred.

 

Additional Requirements

  • Must pass a drug screening and criminal background check
  • Shift: 06:00 AM
  • Physical Qualifications:
  • Lift/carry up to 50 lbs. and push/pull up to 300 lbs. with assistance.
  • Stand or sit for extended periods (up to an entire shift).
  • Perform repetitive hand/wrist motions, bending, twisting.
  • Ability to squat, bend at waist, and reach overhead for extended periods.
  • Work without heavy makeup or hand lotion.
  • Identify color-coded labels.
  • Wear protective clothing (latex, nitrile, or cotton gloves).
  • Work in an environment with dust, corrugated materials, and chemicals.
  • Must meet occupational demands/physical requirement checklist.

 

Pay Rate/Salary

  • Estimated Salary: $16.00 to $24.30 per hour based on qualifications.
