Job Summary
We are seeking an Engineering Technician to join Our Northlake manufacturing site utilizes AGV’s (Automated Guided Vehicles or Forklifts). We are looking for some entry level temporaries that can support these AGV’s on the shifts mentioned above.
Job Description
- Supervise Automated Guided Vehicle (AGV) activity using multiple monitoring tools to ensure that warehouse materials continue moving efficiently when the AGV system is in operation.
- Be prepared for fluctuations in site activity, which may affect the current use and demand for AGVs.
- Use downtime productively to perform necessary AGV-related housekeeping tasks, such as sensor cleaning and periodic physical inspections of the machines.
- Report recurring AGV faults caused by environmental factors to automation engineers so they can investigate and implement fixes.
Skills Required
- Proficiency with computers and monitoring software
- High attention to detail (e.g., noticing repeated issues or patterns)
- Experience in an industrial environment (warehouse or shipping & receiving preferred), with an understanding of safety procedures and general warehouse protocols
- Experience working in a facility that uses AGVs is a strong advantage but not required
- Technical aptitude (e.g., interest in robotics, participation in robotics or engineering projects, or a college student in a STEM field with internship experience in manufacturing or automation)
- Strong troubleshooting skills
- Basic understanding of machine safety principles
- Ability to work independently during off-shift hours
Education and Experience Required
- Highschool diploma or GED equivalent required
Pay Rate
- $25 - $30 per hour (Compensation is offered based on experience, skills, and market factors)
