Job Summary

Ware seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented F.A.T. Technician to perform factory acceptance (FAT) and verification testing for Umbilicals and Subsea Products. This role requires a strong foundation in high-pressure hydrostatic testing, fiber optic fusion splicing, and low/medium voltage cable testing. The ideal candidate is hands-on, analytical, and driven by precision and quality.

Job Description

  • Perform fusion splicing and OTDR testing of fiber optic cables (Outside Plant certified preferred).
  • Verify optical continuity and loss through fusion splices and terminations.
  • Conduct low-voltage (≤1000V) and medium-voltage (≥6000V) testing, including:
  • Conductor resistance, insulation resistance, crosstalk/attenuation, impedance, and Hi-Pot testing.
  • Measure and record electrical properties such as resistance, voltage, and continuity using calibrated test instruments.
  • Perform and assist in high-pressure hydrostatic testing of umbilicals and products at 10,000–30,000 PSI.
  • Set up and operate specialized testing equipment (e.g., Hydratron pumps, high-pressure water jets).
  • Conduct leak checks and verify test integrity using digital recording systems (CompactRIO, NI equipment, pressure transducers).
  • Perform basic maintenance and operational checks on test pumps, manifolds, and instrumentation.
  • Ensure all testing equipment is properly calibrated and functioning.
  • Accurately record test results and maintain digital documentation for all FAT activities.
  • Review and interpret test plots, graphs, and tabulated data to determine pass/fail criteria.
