Job Summary
The Quality Assistant performs dimensional inspections on machined components, reviews quality documentation, and prepares inspection and non-conformance reports. The role supports engineers and production teams in ensuring that parts meet specifications. Requires proficiency with inspection tools, computer software, and the ability to perform physically demanding tasks.
Job Description
- Perform dimensional inspections on simple to complex machined components using various hand measuring tools such as:
- OD, ID, Blade Mics
- Gagemaker thead inspection requirement (Rolls, JSS, MRP)
- Dial and Spring Clippers
- Gage pins & blocks
- Optical Comparator
- Faro Arm experience is a plus
- Perform first article and spot inspection in the machine shop
- Review vendor COC, MTRs, and data sheets for component acceptance
- Prepare inspection reports and maintain files of inspection documents
- Prepare and coordinate Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs) for noncoforming parts with engineering and buyers
- Perform other work-related tasks as assigned
- Work with Engineers and other employees in outside areas to support inspection needs
- Move palletized parts to and from the inspection area as needed
- Comply with all Client Company and HSE policies and procedures
Skills Required
- 5 years of related experience
- Good interpersonal and communication skills
- Proficient with mechanical inspection tools and techniques
- Working knowledge of computer software, including but not limited to Microsoft Outlook, Microsoft Excel, and Microsoft Word
- Microsoft Teams is a plus
Top Skills Required:
- Looking for candidates with 5 years of dimensional experience
- Previous gagemaker experience with thread inspection
- Proficiency and experience working with the Microsoft Office sutie
- Looking for candidates with excellent communication skills (written and verbal)
- Must be a team player and can partner with engineers and possibly a vendor if an issue arises
Education/Training/Certifications
- High School Diploma or GED
Additional Requirements
- Able to pass a background check and drug screening
- Able to perform physically demanding work:
- Standing
- Bending
- Lifting 25 lbs regularly
- Work Hours: 6:00 am - 4:30 pm. Additional overtime may be needed on Mondays, Fridays, Saturdays as workload demands
