Job Summary
The Maintenance Field Planner role supports the planning, coordination, and execution of maintenance and production activities. The position is responsible for managing asset data within CMMS systems, assisting in job plan development through field verification, and supporting scheduling functions by tracking progress and system performance. This role plays a key part in ensuring work is properly defined, resourced, and ready for efficient execution.
Job Description
- Review P&ID drawings and asset data from capital projects and enter accurate information into CMMS software
- Assist in developing detailed job plans by performing field walkdowns to identify required labor, equipment, and materials
- Break down scope of work into executable steps and input all job plan details into database systems
- Support procurement of required materials and external services
- Notify EPC planner when job scope is complete and ready for scheduling
- Assist in monitoring progress of field activities and updating job status as needed
- Define, create, and maintain production schedules based on demand planning, capacity constraints, and operational factors
- Track manufacturing progress, monitor inventory levels, and review schedule performance
- Maintain planning systems and execute ERP processes, including reporting functions
- Provide timely and accurate data to support business and scheduling decisions
Skills Required
- 1–3 years of experience in maintenance and/or operations
- Strong computer skills, including experience with CMMS software
- Basic proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel
- Ability to read and interpret P&IDs, blueprints, safety procedures, and technical manuals
- Strong mechanical aptitude and ability to use tools and equipment
- Effective verbal and written communication skills across all levels of the organization
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize work in potentially stressful or hazardous environments
- Valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record
Education/Training/Certifications
- High School Degree or GED
Additional Requirements
- Ability to work indoors and outdoors in industrial environments and varying weather conditions
- Ability to climb, work at heights, and perform tasks in various physical positions (standing, sitting, kneeling, crouching, etc.)
- Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs., manually transport up to 75 lbs., and apply up to 100 ft-lbs of torque
- Ability to respond to visual and auditory signals, including alarms and instructions
- Regularly required to enter/exit vehicles and travel over rough terrain
- Must wear required safety equipment at all times
- Ability to work overtime as needed
- Must live within or relocate to within one hour of the reporting location
