Job Summary

This role is responsible for overseeing maintenance operations and infrastructure performance across multiple critical facilities, including large-scale data centers. The position ensures the reliability, compliance, and optimal performance of electrical, mechanical, and physical infrastructure. The ideal candidate is a licensed Master Electrician with strong leadership experience and a deep understanding of mission-critical environments.

 

Job Description

  • Oversee electrical infrastructure across facilities, ensuring compliance with local, state, and national codes
  • Lead and supervise daily operations related to electrical, mechanical, HVAC, plumbing, and general facility maintenance
  • Serve as the technical expert for high-voltage systems, switchgear, UPS, and generator operations
  • Manage preventative and corrective maintenance programs to maximize uptime and efficiency
  • Collaborate with IT, security, and operations teams to support data center requirements
  • Develop and maintain SOPs, MOPs, and safety procedures for facility and electrical systems
  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations and standards (NFPA, OSHA, NEC, and local codes), as well as applicable CIP requirements
  • Participate in capital planning, vendor coordination, and infrastructure upgrades
  • Lead response efforts for emergency maintenance situations and after-hours incidents
  • Track and report on maintenance performance, reliability metrics, and operational data
  • Review vendor designs, blueprints, and proposals to ensure alignment with specifications
  • Manage budgets for maintenance, upgrades, and infrastructure improvements across multiple sites
  • Build and maintain effective cross-functional relationships within the organization

 

Skills Required

  • Minimum 8 years of progressive experience in facilities maintenance, including at least 3 years in a leadership role
  • Valid Master Electrician license (State of Texas)
  • Extensive experience in large-scale data centers or mission-critical environments
  • Deep knowledge of electrical distribution systems, including redundancy, load balancing, and failure modes
  • Proficiency with CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management Systems)
  • Familiarity with HVAC/BAS systems, fire life safety systems, and building automation technologies
  • Experience with building management systems (BMS), dcTrack, or similar monitoring tools
  • Project management or trade certifications (e.g., PMP, NICET, LEED) preferred
  • Valid Texas Driver’s License (required)
  • Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to interpret blueprints, schematics, and electrical diagrams
  • Effective crisis management and decision-making under pressure

Education

  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Facilities Management, or a related field

 

Salary

  • $135,000 per year (Compensation will be offered within this posted range based on experience, skills, and market factors)
