Job Summary

We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Material Handler to support inventory control, cycle counting, and shipping operations. This role is responsible for ensuring accurate inventory management, efficient material movement, and proper preparation of outgoing shipments. The ideal candidate is organized, safety-focused, and comfortable working in a fast-paced warehouse or production environment.

 

Job Description

  • Prepare shipments by building, packing, and protecting products for transport
  • Package outgoing materials by boxing, crating, and/or palletizing products
  • Process shipments using scales and generate shipping labels
  • Print and manage bills of lading and packing lists
  • Load and unload materials from storage areas, racks, shelves, or vehicles using motorized equipment
  • Organize and maintain inventory in designated storage or staging areas
  • Perform daily cycle counts and verify inventory accuracy against physical stock
  • Investigate discrepancies and conduct root cause analysis for inventory variances
  • Prepare inventory documentation, reports, and present findings to cross-functional teams
  • Maintain inventory accuracy metrics and support continuous improvement initiatives
  • Determine proper storage methods and stock locations based on size, usage, and space
  • Communicate material shortages and inventory issues to supervisors and planning teams
  • Execute transactions and maintain records in ERP systems (e.g., Oracle)
  • Read and interpret documents such as Sales Order Acknowledgments (SOA) and Bills of Material (BOM)
  • Participate in Lean and continuous improvement (CI) activities
  • Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other material handling equipment safely
  • Report unsafe conditions or behaviors immediately
  • Shift: 7:00 AM to 5:30 PM Monday to Friday Occasionally Saturday

 

Skills Required

  • At least 1 year of experience in inventory control or cycle counting
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience using Microsoft Office
  • Experience operating forklifts and other material handling equipment
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to work quickly and accurately in a dynamic environment
  • Basic math skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division with whole numbers, fractions, and decimals)
  • Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English
  • Ability to follow written and verbal instructions
  • Strong communication skills and a team-oriented mindset
  • Basic mechanical knowledge of tools
  • Professional attitude with a focus on safety and continuous improvement

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with Oracle ERP systems
  • Familiarity with inventory management systems and reporting tools (e.g., Parachute)
  • Experience in warehouse, manufacturing, or production environments

Education

  • High school diploma or GED required

 

Pay Rate

  • $21 per hour (Compensation is offered based on experience, skills, and market factors)
