Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Buyer to support a major polymer production capacity expansion project in the United States. In this role, you will manage the end-to-end procurement process for capital equipment and construction services, ensuring project requirements are met on schedule, within budget, and in compliance with safety and quality standards.

 

Job Description

  • Ensure
  • Analyze approved equipment lists and construction specifications provided by the engineering team to develop a comprehensive procurement strategy.
  • Identify, pre-qualify, and maintain a competitive bid list of domestic and international suppliers.
  • Issue and manage Requests for Quotation (RFQs) and coordinate supplier responses.
  • Prepare detailed commercial bid comparisons and perform total cost of ownership analyses.
  • Lead negotiations covering pricing, delivery schedules, payment milestones, performance guarantees, and warranties.
  • Draft and execute purchase orders and subcontract agreements with strong contractual protections including warranties and liquidated damages clauses.
  • Manage procurement for site-based services, including civil, mechanical, piping, and E&I (Electrical & Instrumentation) contractors.
  • Proactively expedite supplier deliveries to prevent schedule delays and ensure equipment arrival aligns with construction sequencing.
  • Coordinate with quality teams to schedule shop inspections and factory acceptance tests (FATs).
  • Monitor supplier performance and resolve procurement-related issues throughout the project lifecycle.

 

Skills Required

  • 5–7 years of procurement experience, preferably supporting CAPEX projects in the chemical, petrochemical, or industrial manufacturing sectors.
  • Strong understanding of international Incoterms and global procurement practices.
  • Ability to interpret technical data sheets, P&IDs, and complex construction scopes of work.
  • Proficiency in ERP systems (such as SAP or Oracle).
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills for bid evaluation and analysis.
  • Demonstrated ability to negotiate high-value contracts while maintaining strong vendor relationships.
  • Ability to identify supply chain risks, contractual gaps, and potential bottlenecks early in the procurement process.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills to effectively bridge technical engineering teams and commercial suppliers.

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Engineering, Business, or a related field.
