Job Summary
If you're interested in a Mid-Level Logistics Analyst job, then this is the best role for you! Logistics Analyst manage the day-to-day interaction and coordination of the import/export of seed and non-seed (chemical, specialized, research) items entering/exiting the US. This role ensures smooth import and export operations by meeting compliance requirements, creating accurate documents, and supporting customer and production demands. Imports directly impact production sites, while exports support foreign manufacturing sites and end-customer sales.
Job Description
- Perform import/export activities in compliance with government regulations and internal policies.
- Expedite import/export processes by coordinating with regional teams, warehousing/distribution, and production planning.
- Coordinate logistics for ocean, air, land, and rail shipments in partnership with freight forwarders, brokers, and internal stakeholders.
- Ensure timely and compliant completion of all work in accordance with regulations and internal procedures.
- Verify that documentation is accurate and compliant with US and foreign requirements.
- Audit team members' files to maintain audit-ready status.
- Participate in internal or external audits (USCBP/EPA) as needed.
- Accurately and compliantly process orders for assigned countries or product portfolios.
- Stay current on import/export regulations through ongoing training.
- Develop, maintain, and train others on SOPs for assigned portfolios.
- Collaborate across functions and regions to implement best practices and drive continuous improvement.
- Serve as key contact for foreign partners/customers.
- Conduct process training related to import/export operations.
- Handle complex global trade accounts/trade lanes.
- Apply working knowledge of APHIS, CBP, USDA, and other government agency regulations.
- Become a subject matter expert for assigned business units.
- Understand the organization’s product portfolio and production processes.
- Perform additional duties and participate in projects as needed.
Skills Required
- 3+ years of experience in Business, Supply Chain, International Commerce, or related field preferred
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to read and write English proficiently
- Strong analytical and project/deadline management skills
- Working knowledge of APHIS, CBP, USDA regulations
- Experience handling complex global trade lanes
- Ability to collaborate across teams and functions
- Ability to train others and develop SOPs
- Attention to detail and documentation accuracy
- Familiarity with relevant data systems (MS Office, ACE, SAP, GTS, Amber Road, OneSource)
- Experience with agricultural and/or chemical products preferred
- Strong working knowledge of import/export operations, shipping, and logistics
Education/Training/Certifications
- BA/BS degree preferred
- Training or knowledge in Import/Export, Trade & Compliance, or International Commerce
Additional Requirements
- Must pass a drug screening and criminal background check
- Shift: 08:00 AM
- Flexibility to work outside normal hours when necessary
- Ability to maintain compliance and remain current with regulations
- Maintain flexible hours to fulfill an 8-hour workday/40-hour workweek with a hybrid schedule.
- Hybrid availability (T-W-Th onsite & M-F remote)
- 3-month contract with possible extension
Pay Rate/Salary
- Estimated Salary: $26.70 to $34.70 per hour based on qualifications.
